Curriculum Overview

The World Academy Elementary curriculum provides grade level, standards-based content across all subjects. The content areas are supplemented with hands-on projects and writing assignments that receive individualized academic feedback designed to move kids forward in their academic journey at their own pace.

To be successful, we recommend students apply themselves to coursework and tasks for each content area daily (Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies). This will help your student stay on track as they develop a feel for the program and the time that needs to be dedicated for success.

Elementary Curricula: My Path

My Path lessons, assessments, and instructional tools are designed to equip learners with resources for academic success, incorporating a mix of grade-appropriate text, direct instruction videos, learning activities, and games. My Path lessons also integrate numerous instructional supports to address diverse learning styles and promote ongoing collaboration between learners and teachers.

Explicit instruction is the cornerstone of My Path courses. Courses feature highly qualified, certified, on-screen instructors who deliver explicit instruction. On-screen teachers orient students to the lessons and goals, ground concepts in relevant real-life and demonstrate examples that show the answer. They offer clear and concise explanations of subject matter. Tasks, assignments, and assessments embedded throughout each lesson and course provide students the opportunity to exercise higher-order thinking skills of analysis, evaluation, and application. They also offer students the chance to apply learned skills and demonstrate information transfer.
